First Time At Deanna's Kitchen

I have always heard and read about this Prawn Noodles shop in Toa Payoh but I never could find time to make my way there. And when I could find the time, the stall was closed. Fortunately, on my second trip there, I managed to get a sumptuous lunch of Prawn Noodles.

I love my prawns. Love them more when it's fresh. Love them even more when it's large. And I love this Prawn Noodle. The soup is rich and tasty, the prawns were fresh and juicy.

The best Prawn Noodle I've had so far and it's by Deanna's Kitchen. Service-wise, just great. They were polite and such a joy to buy from.

Sotong King of Route 12

By the time I completed my meeting at Waterloo Street, It was already 4.30pm and I hadn't had my lunch yet. As I was driving out of city area, I was thinking and pondering what and where to find that long lost lunch. Then I was reminded of the Sotong King located at 13 Pahang Street.

And the nearest was Route 12.

I've patronized Route 12 before but at that time, the Sotong King was out of stock, so I had to settle for a rather unique hot dog meal. This was a picture of the meal that I had on my first lunch in at Route12;

It's a meal of a hotdog with fries, but the hotdog uses crispy chicken cutlet rather than normal bread, so the added protein makes it an even more filling meal.

Was it good? It definitely was but not a good replacement for sotong king.

So on the next visit, since I was nearby, I decided to drop by.

So this was what I had..

It's nasi lemak pandan (coconut rice cooked with blended pandan leaves), crunchy ground nuts with ikan bilis, egg with sambal. One a separate plate is a large crispy giant squid with a large pair of scissors for the purpose of cutting that giant down to bite sized pieces!

Was it good? It's definitely good with a capital G! The sambal makes everything even more mouthwatering. The sambal is so good that the owner had to charge for an extra small container of sambal! I bought one home and it was good.

Will I Be Back Again?

As soon as it reopens, Definitely!

Where Is It Located?
Route12 has closed since 17th March 2018. The owner, who was my secondary school classmate, had to travel extensively for work. Since he could not be around to keep an eye on the business, he had to shut it down.

We will be updating you once again, once Route 12 commences its operations or you may like the following page https://www.facebook.com/fazwesternstation/ and to get the earliest updates.
